Whom Do We Help?
The answer is: We help those who are willing to help themselves.
Allow us, in these few lines, to outline the way in which we offer and provide aid to families in trouble. Our purpose is to help families who wish to leave the circle of those receiving support - those who wish to, and are able to, undergo a process that will lead them to "stand on their own two feet."
The aid that Paamonim offers is dependent on a three-part process:
a. A review of the family's present economic situation. This includes: analyzing expenses as opposed to income; counseling to families to "live on what they have;" building a correct order of priorities; and giving advice and direction on how to actualize the benefits offered by the authorities.
b. Guaranteeing the future. This includes: a changeover to the Postal Bank, which does not allow overdrafts; an obligation by the family to run their household according to Paamonim rules; and accompanying the family for 3-4 months to ensure that the family balances its expenses in accordance with its means.
c. Help in finding creative and varied solutions for past debts. In the course of building the family's recovery plan, the family is required to cooperate fully, including the submission of detailed reports of income and outlay.
The process of helping a family stand on its own feet takes time.
